Mark Bullinger, Naturalist & Director of Recreation

Mark's lifelong explorations of the southern Rhode Island coast make him ideally suited to help you enjoy the natural riches of this beautiful location.

Naturalist and Director of Recreation Mark Bullinger grew up in our community, digging clams, boating and fishing in the local waters. Mark is a wealth of knowledge about the local area and is here to help you get the most out of your visit. Whether he’s leading tours off the beaten track, answering questions about passing wildlife, or helping you plan your day, his focus is on creating lasting memories for your vacation at our Rhode Island nature resort.

Captain Mark, as he is often called, holds a U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license and personally oversees our boating center and waterfront activities. Mark is a visible presence at the Inn, where he regularly mingles with guests during their Rhode Island vacations. Mark worked at the Inn back in the late 1970s and has many stories of the Inn of yore. If you have questions about the human and natural history of the area, or the Inn itself, our hotel naturalist is a good person to engage in conversation.
